Miss Ima Hogg Quilt Collection in the Winedale Quilt Collection at the Briscoe Center for American History, University of Texas at Austin
Miss Ima Hogg (1882-1975), a noted Texas decorative arts collector, philanthropist, and historic preservationist, donated the Winedale property and its historic structures and period furnishings to the University of Texas in 1967. She gave seventeen quilts to Winedale in the 1960s and 1970s. Few records exist on the provenance of these quilts, though we know that typically she purchased decorative arts at auction and in antique stores in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Massachusetts during the 1960s.
