Virginia Gunn, the editor of Uncoverings, has a M.S. in clothing and textiles and a Ph.D. in history. She is a professor of Clothing, Textiles, and Interiors and the interim director of the School of Family and Con­sumer Sciences at the University of Akron in Ohio. Her research fo­cuses on women's history and on nineteenth- and twentieth-century American textiles, costume, and decorative arts.
