Beverly Ann White
Quiltmaker
Pontiac, Michigan, United States
Michigan African American Quilt Project

My grandmother made quilts for functional use, therefore my quilts are utilitarian quilts to put over us as we read, watch TV or sleep under. Not to be confused with art quilts. My "statement" quilts are made from pure emotion. I gave quilts for the birth of my nieces: Keisha Holt-Ohio Star Variation and Jessica Holt; Playful cats; both of these quilts were destroyed by fire.
