Hattie Williams Jones is the youngest daughter of Mary Allen Williams. Hattie Jones was from Fouke, Arkansas and was taught how to quilt by her mother. She quilted and made clothes for her children and herself. The artist made quilts to give away to family members for various holidays and special life events. She often traded for patterns and cut them from the newspaper. The artist liked to improvise quilt patterns to make them in her own style. She and her twin sisters Tillie Rae Williams Hall and Willie Mae Williams Smith often worked together with their mother Mary to create quilts with unique designs.
