Gasperik 10: Practical Quilts

Mary Gasperik made quite a few of the wool patchwork blanket-substitutes which American quilters were urged to make in response to the pre-World War II economy. These practical items were mostly used up, or moth-eaten over time, but you can see by the quality of the work in these two examples that when Mary Gasperik undertook even the most mundane of quilt projects, she did it with flair and expert needlecraft.
