Brother-Sister Quilts-Leaflet No. 6

By Edith B. Crumb.

You have the patterns for two friendly little dolls whose names are Marie Estelle and Frances Ann, and here is Susan asking to be invited to join them.

This is the third design for the Sister quilt and there will be two of this pattern. If you wish they may be dressed in different colors.

Note that the dotted lines indicate the allowance which is left for turning raw edges under.

The inner dotted line or hair represents a raw edge over which the face is placed.

First baste the face in place on the square. Then the hair. Next, arms and legs, turning in the raw edges. Note that upper edge of leg and bottom of ankle are not turned under but left raw edged to be covered by dress and sock.

Now baste the dress in place, then basted bertha or large collar, then small turn down collar and then the socks, shoes, and one sole.

The hair ribbon goes on last. It may be embroidered if desired. The eyes are brown and the lips are red. These are done in embroidery.

Next week the pram or doll buggy pattern will be given. This is repeated in the body of the quilt and also in the border. It is a helpful pattern to have for pick-up work.

New color schemes, furniture grouping, or some phase of home beautification appears in the "Beauty in the Home" column by Edith Crumb every day in
