Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill look very happy on the start of their little journey but that is because they don't know what we know, that they are due to fall down - with Jack breaking his crown.

This may be worked out in an etching stitch in red, blue, green, or any plain color; or the whole block may be made in applique.

Let's put a light green suit on Jack and a flowered drewss, plain pink hat, lace panteletes and brown shoes on Jill, with the pail a silver gray (like tin).

This is also attractive in a combination of applique and solid embroidery. Jack's hair, the ruffle on Jill's cap and the bow of her apron may be embroidered and so may the shoes of both. The buttons on Jack's suit may be big French knots.

See general directions leaflet giving yardages and measurements of blocks, joining strips and borders of quilt.
