Minnie TenEyck Rice
Michigan; United States
This floral applique of original design, was donated to the Dr. William Hyser Rivers Museum in Belmont, Michigan, by Gayle Rice, daughter of the maker, Minnie TenEyck Rice.
The border design of vines, urns, and birds combined with the 12 unusual floral motifs done in solid cottons demonstrate her individuality as an artist. Unfortunately, very little is known about Minnie Rice, and it is not known whether she made other quilts.
