Making Masks to Help Loved Ones
Smyrna; Delaware; United States
I began by making masks for a residential care facility where my adult daughter lives and is in need of PPE. The residents all have some form of disability. The facility had been in lockdown for a month at this point in order to protect the residents from COVID-19. It was the one thing I could do to help. In addition, I am making multiple N-95 mask covers to prolong their use for my brother and nephew, both hospital physicians. Their access to PPE is severely limited and they are running out of the little they have at their respective hospitals. Doing this made me feel that I can help in some way to protect my loved ones--- in even a small way. I have also made masks for my immediate family, my husband, my other daughter, son in law and their three children. Even though I can't be with them, this can be a long distance hug for them.
