The Sears Building at the Chicago World's Fair served as the company's on-site headquarters. Sears Roebuck & Co. was one of the original fair sponsors. The architecture of the building was similar to that used for the Sears department stores. Since Sears sponsored the national quilting contest, some contestants included the building in the design of their quilts.
