Loretta G. Hammonds Woodard holds a B.S. in Fashion Design and a M.A. in East Asian History from the University of Hawaii. She has served as a museum curator, registrar, and collections manager at the Mission Houses Museum and Hawaii's Plantation Village. She is now a full-time researcher specializing in Hawaiian quiltmaking traditions. Laurie has served on the board of directors of the Hawaiian Quilt Research Project since its formation in 1990.
