Fabric Stash Put to Good Use

Georgetown; South Carolina; United States

I guess I began making masks in April. A couple of my neighbors are nurses and young mothers. When the virus first showed up in our community and the shortage of N95 masks was first made known, I felt it was important to give these young women something to help protect themselves. Since I have such a large stash of fabrics, it felt selfish not to put some of it to use for this cause; so I have since made a good number for others who may need them. If this disease passes on and becomes history, maybe we'll all cut our masks apart and make quilts. Seems all of these pictures show ones I’ve made with fabric I bought specially for the purpose, but most of the ones I’ve made used what I already have.

The “school” print was half priced. As a retired teacher I was thinking former colleagues will need masks when schools reopen.

I had a bit of music themed fabric left from a quilt and made several to five members of my church choir.

The butterfly print was too pretty to resist and it was half price at the fabric store.
