The following information was supplied by the quiltmaker: How did you choose the materials used in your quilt? "I hand painted some of the fabric, I also purchased hand painted fabric from other quilt artists. The fabric representing the birch trees looked like birch!" How long have you been making quilts? How did you learn to quilt? "16 years. I took classes from many quilt artists. I read everything I could about quilting, and I learned from experience." What was your primary reason for entering the Lands' End contest? Do you frequently enter your quilts in competition? "I felt my quilt had a special message about a beautiful place. I enter competition frequently. It pushes me to achieve." Has being a winner in the Land's End contest made a difference in your life? Has it changed the way you look at your work as a quilt maker? "Making quilt is a passion for me. Receiving notice about being in the show was very gratifying. Receiving recognition is very confirming to an artist."
