Essay:
Quilt belonged to donor's parents, James and Mary Chalmers. The parents came from Scotland to Otario, and then to 20 miles east of High River in 1906, ranching and farming. Moved to Millarville in 1918. Father died in Millarville c.1928, mother in Calagary in 1948. Donor Jennie Chalmers married William Mackay, Millarville rancher, who came to Claresholm in 1904 from Nova Scotia by way of Idaho.
