Artist's Statement:

Elizabeth Briskey Mast's "Scrap Baby Quilt" spoke to me with its geometric shapes, simple piecing and unusual color choices. The quilt has a very contemporary feel even though it was made circa 1890. The quilter seemed to work intuitively with what was available to her similar to the way I often work. I limited my fabrics to using only those designed by Jinny Beyer and that's how they got to meet each other.
