ALMA WILLIAMS WATKINS OF LIVERPOOL, WV. MRS. WATKINS WAS A NATIVE OF ROANE COUNTY AND HER LIFE SPANNED THE 54 YEARS OF 1883 - 1937. THE QUILT WAS HAND QUILTED BY HER GRANDDAUGHTER EDELENE WOOD AS A FIRST TIME QUILTING EFFORT AND WAS FINISHED OFF BY PROFESSIONAL QUILTER JANET STATLER OF BELMONT, WV. THE QUILT, WHICH IS A RED LE MOYNE STAR IN A BASKET OF DEPRESSION ERA PINK AND GREEN CHINTZ WAS FEATURED ON THE COVER OF QUILT WORLD MAGAZINE OF JUNE 1991 WITH ACCOMPANYING STORY BY EDELENE WHO IS SHOWN WITH MRS. WATKINS IN THIS FIVE GENERATION PICTURE. MRS. WATKINS IS CENTER PERSON AND HER FATHER AND GRANDMOTHER ARE TO HER RIGHT AND DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER TO HER LEFT. 6/11/92
