Materials:

100% cotton fabric for front and back. Made fabric technique for the front. Warm and White cotton batting. Hand drawn shoe patterns, inspired by shoes I found online. Fusible applique with straight stitching to make sure it stayed on, and echo quilting on my domestic machine. Paisley "McTavishing" quilting on my longarm machine. Heat set crystals and hand stitched floral embellishment. Machine applied binding, hand stitched to the back.

Artist's Statement:

Using Jamie Fingal's "20 Dresses" with its color palette of red and black as inspiration, I designed three pair of shoes that could compliment every dress. With a nod to Victoria Findlay Wolfe, I constructed my background fabric. Upon completion of the applique I realized that my shoes needed a little bling. Over 100 crystals later I knew the shoes were ready to hit the streets. I hope you enjoy my little quilt.
