The main memorial sites were the Safeway where the shooting took place, the hospital that was caring for injured victims, and the official office of the Congresswoman. These memorials continued to collect items months after the shooting and were eventually dismantled with great care and with respect for how they were left. Storage was donated and over 5,000 items were archived and catalogued by volunteers. \r\n\r\n Among these 5,000 plus items were nineteen quilts.
