There are cut-outs of the first six American Presidents appliqued on the quilt top. Fabric printed with these portraits was produced in both France and England for sale in America. The portraits are framed with diagonal borders of clamshell and geometric patchwork made of flowered chintz. This is an exquisite quilt with beautiful fabrics. The quilt is well preserved. There are 1/2" pieced squares in the center medallion. Rated 5 (outstanding) on HQPNJ scale for visual effect.
