Laurel Horton has a M.S. in library science and a M.A. in folklore. Self-employed as a researcher and consultant, Laurel presents grants workshops to nonprofit groups and educators for the Polaris Corporation. She has served AQSG as both president and editor of Uncoverings. A frequent author and lecturer, her research interests include quiltmaking traditions in the southeastern United States and gender issues in the creation and use of textiles.
