New Baby's Bib.

A bib like this may be made of the quilted and interlined padding used to protect tables from hot dishes. It may be made of toweling, or crash may be chosen. The main considertaion should be the fact that the bib will launder easily.

Cut the bib 9 in. wide by 12 in. long - a third of a yard of material will do. Round the upper corners of the bib and cut out a curve in the center top to fit the baby's neck. Bias tape is used to bind the bib edges.

The appliqued birds can be made in various fast colors, one of the best combinations being as follows: Body blue, leg orange and wing figured yellow and white. The bill may be appliqued or embroidered, like the eye. Use yellow bias tape with this color scheme.

First trace the bird design on light cardboard, cut it out and trace the entire design on the bib. Next cut out the wing, leg and bill, and trace the bird on blue, the wing and bill on the yellow print, and the leg on orange.

Allow one quarter inch for turning the pieces under to applique them.
