In the 1940s, Lockport Batting Co. of Lockport, NY acquired from the Rock River Cotton Co., a line of quilt patterns by Mary McElwain of Walworth, Wisconsin. Lockport reprinted the patterns and sometimes added advertisements for their own quilt batting and quilting stencils.
