An Opening Exhibition Celebration and Reception hosted by OPUS, Inc. featuring the music of Collective Expression (a new young lions on the jazz scene) presented by the Artists Collective Master Jazz Series. In addition, Connecticut's Celebrated Master Story teller Gertrude Blanks will perform.

Saturday, November 9th Promptly at 1:00 p.m.
An Air-Brush Wearable Art Demonstration conducted by Hartford-based Visual Fiber Artist/Designer Wayne K. Jackson, in the Gallery. For the public's viewing pleasure, the Gallery will remain open until 4:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 10th Promptly at 4:00 p.m.
A Gallery Talk conducted by Exhibiting Quilter, Carolyn L. Mazloomi, Coordinator of Women of Color Quilters Network of Cincinnati, Ohio. For the public's veiwing pleasure, the Gallery will open at 1:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 23rd Promptly at 1:00 p.m.
A Quilter's Sharing Session conducted by Guest Curators, Edjohnetta Miller and Margaret Penn, featuring New York based Exhibiting Quilters, Valerie Bailey, Michael Cummings and Peggy Hartwell in addition to the Connecticut Quilters, Hattie Henry of Hartford and Laura Hudson of Forestville.

Sunday, December 6th & Sunday, December 7th 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The 12th Annual African-American Holiday Crafts Marketplace. Featuring a collection of Artifacts, Essence, Fiber Arts, Dolls, Ethnic Stationery, Prints, Jewelry, Leather and Pottery from artisans and vendors across the country. In addition, the Gallery's limited Poster Edition from previous exhibitions.

This exhibition is organized for the CRT Craftery Gallery by the Hartford-based African-American Fiber Arts and Crafts Specialists, Edjohnetta Miller and Margaret Penn, founders of E. Miller and M. Penn Associates, in collaboration with the Department of Fine Arts Director, Jonathan Bruce and Gallery Associate, Ronald N. Leyhow. Funding for this exhibition is made possible in part through grants from: the Connecticut Department of Human Resources; the Connecticut Commission on the Arts; the Greater Hartford Arts Council; the National Endowment for the Arts/Expansion Arts Program; and a special audience development grant from the Roberts Foundation. Program activities support includes: Friends of the Craftery; the Collective Expression appearance is made possible in part through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. For the public's convenience, the exhibition can be viewd starting Sunday, October 27th through Friday, December 29th; weekdays (Tuesday - Friday) from noon until 4:00 p.m. In observation of the Thanksgiving holiday season, the Gallery will be closed from Tuesday, November 26th and reopens Tuesday, December 3rd, 1991.
