Interesting Old Quilt Are Received for Show

When Mrs. Fred Cowper came to the Corner meeting last week her daughter, Mrs. Esther Naysmith 1061 State Street, Lincoln Park, came with her. Esther had brought a brand new quilt which she had just finished for the show.

She is shown in the picture with the quilt. Better make note to look for this at the show as its great big flower pattern is very attractive. It's the first quilt Esther ever made and she's very proud of it.

From the quilt receiving office at 827 West Lafayette boulevard, comes the news that Mrs. A.D. Murray 20445 Litchfield avenue has brought in some entries. Her son brought her down and she was radian with enthusiasm when she unwrapped her eight lovely quilts and showed them to Mrs. Irma Armstrong who checks in the quilts at the headquarters.

Mrs. Murray was 82 years old last March. She brought three quilts that she made when she was 15 years old- and they are lovely. One is called Temperance Tree a green and red design on white. Another is the Railroad Track and Depot' in indigo on white. The third is called 'saw Tooth" and it really does look its name. It is in bright red triangles on white.

She also entered a quilt which she made when she was 62 years old and just wait until you see it!

Mrs. Murray has no unemployed moments. Right now she is making a lovely luncheon set to be used on her sons yacht and she has ever so many other fascinating things planned for the future. This will be her first visit to the quilt show and she is looking forward to it with the happiest anticipation.
