Kaaren Beaver-Buffington, a Pacific Northwest native, has combined her passion for all types of needlework and the books that illuminate these arts, with a commitment to historic preservation. She served as co-founder and president of the Arcata ( CA) Museum and as assistant curator of the Clarke Historical Museum in Eureka. Kaaren holds a history degree from Humboldt State University and plans continued studies in Arts Administration at the University of Oregon. In 2003 she was awarded Preservationist of the Year in Arcata and recently relocated to Portland, OR to an 1888 house she restored.
