Mother Goose Quilt Series-Pattern No. 2
Hi, Diddle, Diddle
You may work this out in an etching stitch in red, blue, green or any plain color; or you may make the whole block in applique.
You may applique the cat in carrot colored percale; the fiddle brown; the whiskers black (etched, of course) and the eyes shiny black slik French knots.
This is also attractive in a combination of applique and solide embroidery. The body may be as suggested for the applique, the mouth, whiskers, bow and strings, of embroidery.
Just shut your eyes and try to imagine the music which our friend, the cat, is playing on his fiddle. It must be very beautiful, otherwise he would not have such a pleased expression on his face.
See general directions leaflet, giving yardages and measurements of blocks, joining strips and borders of quilt.
