Mother Goose Quilt Series-Pattern No. 7
Polly Put The Kettle On

This may be worked in an etching stitch in red, blue, green or any plain color; or the whole may be in applique.

Polly may have a blue and white checked gingham dress, lace pantelettes (shirred), a white apron, black shoes, and a plain blue bonnet with a ruffle of the same. The tea kettle may be plain copper colored material.

This may be a combination of applique and etching stitch and you may use your own judgement as to the face and arms. An etching stitch will turn out more successfully than applique if you are not accustomed to the latter method of needlework.

See general direction leaflet, giving yardages and measurements of blocks, joining strips and borders.
