Finish a Quilt-Start a Mask

Santa Fe; New Mexico; United States

I started making masks at the end of March as soon as I finished a quilt I had been working on. I figured, what are the chances that a skill I have would be useful in a global health crisis!?  Since all fabric stores in my town are closed, I've been using fabric from my stash. Elastic was sold out even online so I am waiting for my order to arrive, in the meantime I used the small amount of bias tape I had but mostly made my own.  I did make some masks with hair ties or other types of elastic I had. It has felt good to be able to do something and to be able to make use of supplies I have on hand.  In addition to sewing masks, several of my friends have asked for my advice while working on their own masks.
