Peggy Derrick has been a quilt researcher, designer, and quiltmaker since 1990. She holds a B.A. in Art from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and an M.A. in Textile History/Quilt Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She curated Visual Systems: The Quilter's Eye, an exhibition of quilts from the International Quilt Study Center collection. As an intern and a volunteer at the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum in Decorah, Iowa, Derrick examined and researched their collection of approximately 110 quilts.
Linda McShannock has served as collections curator at the Minnesota Historical Society since 1995. She holds a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Minnesota, and an M.A. in Textile History/Quilt Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research into the profession of dressmaking will be published in a forthcoming volume of Minnesota History. She is a former president and board member of the Textile Center, a member of the Costume Society of America, and a member of AQSG.
