Kathleen Curtis Wilson was curator of textiles at the Historic Crab Orchard Museum, Tazewell, Virginia before becoming the 1994 scholar-in-residence at the Virginia Center for the Humanities and Public Policy in Charlottesville. She studied handweaving at The Cranbrook Schools in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and spent a decade running the Old Abingdon Weaver, Inc. textile mill where she produced textiles with antique looms and equipment. She lectures, writes, and curates textile exhibits.
