Gloria Seaman Allen holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from George Washington University. Formerly director and chief curator of the Daughters of the American Revolution Museum, Washington, DC, she is now an independent historian and an exhibition consultant specializing in the material culture and social history of the Chesapeake region. She lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her panoramic view of the Chesapeake Bay, her cats and dogs, and her indigo and white quilts.
