\r\nQuilting is a passion of mine. It allows me to be creative. I have been sewng since elementary school. I entered a 4-H sewing conest and came in third place. I got my first sewing machine in 4th 5th grade--the best present ever! I started quilting in my 30s when I took a class in Cedarburg, WI to make a quilt vest in the early 80s. Quilting became therapy when I was a teacher and administrator. I am retired now and spend as much time as I can quilting.

\r\nQuilting is a passion of mine. It allows me to be creative. I have been sewng since elementary school. I entered a 4-H sewing conest and came in third place. I got my first sewing machine in 4th 5th grade--the best present ever! I started quilting in my 30s when I took a class in Cedarburg, WI to make a quilt vest in the early 80s. Quilting became therapy when I was a teacher and administrator. I am retired now and spend as much time as I can quilting.

\r\n\tMy grandmother started sewing at a very young age, making her brothers' shirts. She was self-taught and always gave us items that she made. She gave this quilt to me as a young girl for either my birthday or for Christmas. It has been a well loved quilt for many years. \r\nQuilting is a passion of mine. It allows me to be creative. I have been sewng since elementary school. I entered a 4-H sewing conest and came in third place. I got my first sewing machine in 4th 5th grade--the best present ever! I started quilting in my 30s when I took a class in Cedarburg, WI to make a quilt vest in the early 80s. Quilting became therapy when I was a teacher and administrator. I am retired now and spend as much time as I can quilting.

\r\nQuilting is a passion of mine. It allows me to be creative. I have been sewng since elementary school. I entered a 4-H sewing conest and came in third place. I got my first sewing machine in 4th 5th grade--the best present ever! I started quilting in my 30s when I took a class in Cedarburg, WI to make a quilt vest in the early 80s. Quilting became therapy when I was a teacher and administrator. I am retired now and spend as much time as I can quilting.

The center block that is now covered with the orange circle was another embroidered square with a kitten. We lived in an old house that had cracks that allowed the cold inside. One night, I put the quilt over a heater so it could get warm before I covered the baby and it scorched.
