Michigan Quilt Project
Alden, Michigan, United States
The mission of the Helena Township Historical Society is to preserve local history and to promote interest therein. At the Alden Depot Museum, the HTHS collects and makes available to residents and visitors objects and information relevant to the area’s amazing history; artifacts, photographs, postcards, recordings and documents are curated, maintained and displayed.
HTHS is a small community historical society in the town of Alden on Torch Lake. It originated in 1990 by a small community group led by Dorothy Walter, our founder. Quilts in this collection were donated by local individuals from their own family collection and in one case, a quilt was found in a house when it was sold.
