Virginia Gunn, the editor of Uncoverings, has a M.S. in clothing and textiles and a Ph.D. in history. She is a professor and the director of graduate studies for the School of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Akron in Ohio. Her research focuses on women's history and on nineteenth-century American textiles, costume, and decorative arts.
