Barbara Carow worked as an Adult Services librarian before earning her M.F.A. in Surface Design, with a thesis on "Image and Issue: Beyond the Studio Quilt." She spends time on quiltmaking, writing, teaching, and travel, and studies the stages of women's lives and the creative process. Her profiles of quilt artists have appeared in Quilting lnternational, Bead & Button, Art/Quilt Magazine, and Quilter's Gallery. She is an artist member of Studio Art Quilt Associates and newsletter editor for The Artful Hands Guild.
