A quilt block pattern published in Farm Journal and Farmer's Wife
FARM JOURNAL and FARMER'S WIFE
Philadelphia, 5, Pa.
HOME AGAIN
(12" square)
Straight way of material
#1, 8 - Light
#2, 4 - Dark
#3, 4 - White
To make a quilt 84" x 108" will require 63 blocks. 63 blocks will require approximately the following material:
White 5-1/4 yards
Light 6 yards
Dark 3 yards
Original block has center of soft green and white, with border of pale pink cotton. Quilt is prettiest when put together without a sash between blocks.
For accuracy in piecing the block, cut from cardboard a pattern the actual size of the piece when seams are off. This will be the space inside the dotted lines. On each piece of material mark on wrong side with a pencil around the cardboard pattern, emphasizing the points at corners. The points of each two pieces which are to be sewed together should be matched accurately and pinned. The seem will be taken where the pencil mark is shown.
