Michigan Quilt Project

The Marquette Regional History Center features a permanent exhibit, one or more changing special exhibits each year, programs, a gift shop, and a research library. Founded in 1918 as the Marquette County Historical Society and operating as a private nonprofit with 501c3 status, it opened a new facility in 2012. The Center focuses on the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The MRHC hosts a fiber festival biannually. Its 70 plus quilts date from the mid 19th century to the present with an emphasis on show quilts. Quilts are still sought for its permanent collection.
