(clipping cut-off)...treat west wall windowed from ceiling to floor partially veiled by soft beige and brown hanging striped horizontally. A long table of Hungarian ash and Carpathian elm stands in front of this window, and part of a group upholstered in white leather and soft green fabric.

The fireplace wall is salmon pink, the fireplace of aluminum, the bookcases and wood boxes of the same metal; the deep love seat is covered in soft green leather.

The floor covering is in brown, part cream and tomato red, these different tones being distributed about in small rectangles, parallel lines and dots.

In one of the smaller illustrations is shown the giant's stride stairway, constructed of aluminum shining, airy and amazingly simple, strking the note, as staircases always do for the design of the entire house. Another illustration shows a chair of simple but dignified design promising the maximum of comfort with its slightly reclining back, softly upholstered seat and back.

The third of the small illustrations shows (and I won't make you guess) a magazine holder which looks very much like something that would spring together suddenly but is substantial, practical and in keeping with the general modern trend of the house.

Straight lines, lack of superfluous decoration promise a minimum of effort for the housekeeper in a place such as this; because of the varied colors used in the walls and floor coverings there is certain to be no feeling of monotony -- which is always considered a death-dealing blow to a newly furnished house.

Quilt Club Corner.
I would like to join the Quilt Club, but I will not be able to enter a quilt in the contest. I am working of the Dresden Plate to think that entitles me to belong to your Club. Does it not? I have been a way for nearly six weeks and have missed a good many of your broadcasts and missed reading a lot of the printed letters.

I have a small hint I would like to pass on in case no one else has sent it in. I keep all my cut patches on a common pin turned upside down. It keeps the patches in a neat pile and they do not get wrinkled and are nice to work with. I cut all my pieces for the Dresden Plate and put 20 different patches on each pin. When I go any place I just put a pin of patches in my purse for quick pick-up work.

I intend to make the Trip later on as I think it is such a nice pattern. I am anxious for the Contest. I want to be among the first to attend.
Mrs. E.T.

If you get your Dresden Plate top finished even though it is not quilted, why not enter it just as is to show the color scheme.

I like your idea of organizing your pieces so neatly. It makes your pick-up work very easy to carry about and I am sure that this will be tried by others.

You will like to make the Trip for it is very interesting. I don't blame you for looking forward to the Contest. It is going to be very interesting. I am sure, and so nice to meet everyone who has written in and those who have not even though they are interested in quilts.

Women Writers.
The poetry group of Detroit Women Writer's Club will be entertained Tuesday at a luncheon at the home of Mrs. Ira McDonald, Broadacre avenue, Clawson. Members will meet at McGregor Public Library, at 10 a. m.

The first fall meeting of the junior council, Detroit Federation of Women's Clubs will be held at 7:30 p. m. Thursday at the Hotel Statler.

New Hour Now For Radio “Corner”
The 10 o’clock Wednesday hour to which the Quilt Club Corner was changed last week will continue until further notice. So far no objections have been received and it is assumed that this is as satisfactory as 10:30.
