New Member Welcomed at Quilt Club Meeting
By Edith B. Crumb

The quilt club meeting yesterday was one of good companionship and busy fingers.

Instead of crocheting her little stars for a table cloth, Mrs. Maude S. Raymond is making blocks for a pre-quilted quilt like the ones which Mrs. Eva Schaub makes.

Mrs. Cora Dempsey brought a friend who joined the club. She is Mrs. Kate Cicotte, 2424 West Philadelphia avenue. We hope that she enjoyed herself and will attend every Friday afternoon.

Mrs. Roland Keays was almost like a new member. She has only been able to come to the meeting once since last Christmas, but now that she is feeling better will try to come more often.

Mrs. Ridler wishes to remind you again that your articles for the Nancy's Belles' bazar should be brought to the Quilt Club meeting next Friday, November 28 as that will be the last date that she can receive them.

Mrs. Lavina Lilley brought a quilt she had just finished for Mrs. Mary Jones. It is a tulip wheel pattern. Perhaps you saw the top the day that Mrs. Jones brought in to Mrs. Lilley. It is very gay and effective. Mrs. Belle Hardy is busy making doll quilts for the bazar.

The girls emplyed at the Difco Laboratories, Inc., 920 Henry street, have dressed 65 dolls for the Goodfellows. Three prizes were awarded by the officers of the corporation for the three best dressed dolls.

Winners were: Mrs. K. Stell, Miss Betty Crist and Mrs. Phyllis Neal. All of these were dressed for cold winter weather and the doll winning the first prize had a belted jacket held together with frogs, overshoes to keep those white kid slippers dry and clean and even little bits of hand knitted mittens, not to mention a pocket book which hung over her arm.

Honorable mention for dressing the dolls was given Miss Martha Desk, Miss Nan Findley, Mrs. B Mitchell, Miss Roberta Bentley, Miss June Carlson, Mrs. Lois Morrison, and Mrs. Mearl Noftz.
