Soft peach cast - The walls of the living room have a soft peach cast in contrast to the soft blue gray of the woodwork. Flowered faille draperies are used at the window and the floor covering is rose beige carpeting.
Cedar Chest Window Seat - The bedroom over the living room has blue and white striped wallpaper, gray woodwork, blue carpeting and white ground flowered draperies. The window seat between the closets is a cedar chest.

Even though the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Charles K. Bartow, 20455 Briarcliff road, was not a house designed especially for them, they have put so much of their own personalities into it that it has the appearance of having been created to meet their every need and wish.

With its side to the street and its front door gained by way of a gate in a fence that makes a friendly and inviting entrance, this house is a real home.

On the first floor are center entrance hall, living room, dining room, kitchen and power room, as well as living porch and patio. On the second floor are two bedrooms, a study and bath.

Aqua PredominatesA suble tint of aqua predominates in the hall, living room and dining room. To keynote this the walls of the hall are treated with a wallpaper with design showing the Chinese influence and in which aqua predominates. The floor covering is rose beige and the woodwork is blue gray.

The walls of the living room are soft peach, and the woodwork, including the entire south or fireplace wall, which is of wood construction, is soft blue-gray. Aqua-ground flowered faille is sued for the draperies and there is a large chair slip covered in the same material. The sofa is covered in rose beige and blue satin striped material, and Mrs. Barlow made the needlepointe seat covers for a pair of antique side chairs as well as the seat and back of a chair and stool near the fireplace.

Peach Walls
Light peach walls and blue-gray woodwork create the background for the dining room. The floor covering matches that of the hall and the living room, while the draperies are of beige-ground flowered material. The furniture is mahogany, Eighteenth Century type. The chair seats are covered in striped satin with Burgundy predominating.

The kitchen color scheme includes soft yellow walls, white woodwork, blue marbelized linoleum floor and counters, and white curtains with ruffles embroidered in red. The cupboard interiors are deeper yellow than the walls.

Powder Room
The powder room has rose peach walls and ceiling, while the woodwork is blue-gray. The floor covering is maroon linoleum and the...(clipping cut-off)
