To live in a small town was the dream of Mr. and Mrs. Jim McCoy and to prove their sincerity, they built a house in Brown City, Michigan.

This community with a population less than 900 is up in the thumb but within easy driving distance of Detroit in case the McCoys get lonesome for the bright lights of the city.

They selected a Detroit News house plan No. JE15 executed by H. H. Hallett and shown on page 87 in the book of the "Best 100 Detroit News House Plans" published by The Detroit News.

A Few Changes
The house is a one-floor structure with full basement and contains vestibule, living room, dining room, kitchen with dining space, three bathrooms, one bath and a lavatory. They made a few changes. Originally the plans showed French doors from the dining room to the terrace and these they changed to one large window.

Then they made the kitchen one foot wider (taking this from the dining room) and made an entrance door from the kitchen to the porch.
