Edith Crumb dies; home decor editor​
Edith B. Crumb, Detroit News home furnishings editor for many years before her retirement in 1958, died today in her apartment in Dearborn.

Miss Crumb, 76, was a nationally known authority on interior decoration, especially in the field of American antiques.

She planned The Detroit News' books of modern home designs, and a number of her original plans are still listed in the current issue, "92 Home Designs."

A native of Buffalo, N. Y., Miss Crumb was employed at The News almost 34 years. She leaves no immediate survivors.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Services for Edith Barton Crumb, 76, former Detroit News home furnishings editor and nationally known authority on interior decoration, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Martha Mary Chapel, Greenfield Village. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Flint. The body is at the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan, Dearborn. Miss Crumb was with The News for almost 34 years before retiring in 1958. Survivors are two nephews and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Howard Crumb.
