Insert is little four-year-old Francis Ruth Korb who came with her mother to the sewing circle and almost finished Mother Goose's eyes while she was having her picture taken.

Quilters Turn Good fellow and Needle Click Merrily

By Edith B. Crumb

That big sewing circle that was scheduled for yesterday afternoon had such a large attendance that it turned into two great big sewing circles and everyone seemed to be happy.

Knitting, crocheting, quilt-patch swapping, chatting and some tatting were done during the afternoon.

Next week there will probably be more knitters for that Detroit News Goodfellows' sweater contest is certainly bringing out the knitting needles.

Three are many knitters who would like to make sweaters if they had the yarn, whereas thre are others who would like to donate the yarn if someone else would do the knitting; so now we have the problem of getting knitters and yarn together.

Yesterday afternoon five knitters gave me their names so that I could get in touch with them I I had wool donated. Soon enough change was put in the bowl to buy the yarn for two sweaters. Now if anyone else cares to donate enough yarn for a sweater (they cost from $1 up) please call or write Edith B. Crumb, care The Detroit News, Randolph 2000, Line 367.

This sewing circle (which filled two big rooms) is to be a regular affair every Friday afternoon from 1 to 4 o'clock.

Even if you can't stay all of the afternoon, drop in and have a little chat, anwyay. We thought you would like the early hour, rather...(clipping cut-off)
