All Conversation Centers Around Big Quilt Exhibit
By Edith B. Crumb

Only two words were necessary for conversation at yesterday's Quilt Club Corner meeting and those were Quilt Show. Nearly every quilter who appeared had just come from 827 West Lafayette boulevard where she had entered her quilt or quilts for the big show which is to be held in the Naval Armory April 16,17 and 18th.
Mrs. Bina Ransbottom entered 10 quilts and plans to bring two or three more down. She brought all of these on the street car and would have had a pretty hard time but the conductor helped her with all of her packages and saw to it that she had all of them safely when she stepped off from the car.

Mrs. Cecelia Knapp and Mrs. A.C.J Mason dropped in from Monroe for a little visit with us and Mrs. Knapp had a very beautiful quilt top which every one of us was interested in seeing.

Constance K Murphy and Judith Yost also dropped in for a little chat and we hoped to see both of them at the show.
Several new quilters joined, among them being Mrs. Ethel Scotey, 3424 Grand River Avenue, Mrs. Tillie Garbarini, 7164 Tuxedo Avenue, Mrs. Kenneth Bannon, 10027 Elmire Avenue and Mrs. Gilbert Gerken 15473 Manor Avenue.

Mrs. Garbarini had a handsome net curtain trimmed with lace which she had crocheted for it and she surprised everyone by saying that every window in her house had curtains with hand crocheted lace on them and she had made every one of them.
I forgot to tell you that Constance K Murphy is planning to enter four tops and Gran has already sent three quilts from Howell.
There is just one more meeting before the Quilt Show and then the next one will be at the Armory.

Remember that the show opens at 2 p.m. the first day and 10 a.m. the other two days, staying open all three days until 10 p.m.
If you have no already made your quilt entries be sure that they are brought down to 827 West Lafayette boulevard by 5 p.m. Saturday April 10.

The receiving office is open daily from 8;30 to 5 p.m. and the earlier you come the more quickly you will be able to make your entries.
